Neither therapist nor hero
Your team's mental health starts with how it is led
You don't need to be an expert in mental illness: your role is to listen, refer people to help and create the conditions that protect them, such as psychological safety, clarity and a balanced workload, the very same conditions that sustain engagement and high performance.
And you need to take care of yourself too, because your state affects your team and your results. An exhausted leader makes worse decisions, centralizes and reacts badly to mistakes. Being allowed to fail, asking for help and respecting limits is also leadership.

What you will see in this talk
Not a therapist
Leaders don't need to diagnose anyone. Their greatest contribution is the way they lead.
- Listening and referring people to help, without being an expert in mental illness
- Creating the conditions that protect people: psychological safety, clarity and a balanced workload
- Understanding that these same conditions sustain engagement and high performance
Not a hero
Leaders need to take care of themselves too, because their state affects the team and the results.
- Why an exhausted leader makes worse decisions, centralizes and reacts badly to mistakes
- Being allowed to fail, asking for help and respecting limits is also leadership
- Taking care of yourself sets an example for the team
This talk can address psychosocial risks, but it does not replace the full risk mapping required by NR-1, Brazil's occupational risk regulation. For that step, Jasmim, the company founded by Luciana, supports organizations with risk mapping and action plans.
Want to go beyond the talk?
Jasmim, the company founded by Luciana, offers a one-day workshop for leaders, with an assessment beforehand and follow-up afterwards (in Portuguese).
